My life & career is well past more than a little surreal…
Studying biochemistry the 1st time around at university, travelling the world over for Emirates Airline for 6.5 years as a flight attendant based in Dubai, putting a 900 square metre ice rink on the sands of Bondi Beach, creating a role music supervisor on Ballistyx Snowboard Show music supervisor and a swag other roles in the music industry and now I have a business and career in an field that didn’t even exist 15 years ago… Finger on the pulse and yep, I’m making it all up as I go along!
And this is a MASSIVE part of why I’m filled with the most amazing energy when I catch-up with self-starters like Australian lifestyle commentator, blogger, social media strategist & influencer, Lisa Clark. Very much like myself, Lisa Clark has created a career for herself that she loves by following a #ChooseYourOwnAdventure-style approach to life – choosing to pursue roles based on gut instinct, passion and curiosity.
In this vast ranging episode of Hot & Delicious: Rocks The Planet!, Lisa and I enjoy candid discussions about knowing, staying true to and building your own personal brand, blogging for Skillsroad (an initiative set-up to help the youth of Australia who aren’t sure what they want to do in life to discover what kinds of careers will suit their personality type and they might actually enjoy), our respective journeys to living in Bondi Beach and falling in love with this beach community, life growing up in the Western Suburbs of Sydney, Lisa’s love for the Penrith Panthers & early dreams of being a Panthers cheerleader, the support of her dad & best friend Kevin, the challenges of dealing with family members with depression, her mum’s epilepsy and so much more. Lisa Clark is hilarious, independent, ambitious and inspiring. Easily one of my favourite shows of 2016. I was buzzing afterwards!
To me, the secret to happiness is all about learning how to be present and in the moment, soaking up the journey that is life and pursuing what makes you happy.
