Sounds Australia – Export Music Producer, Glenny G, taking Australian music to the world | Podcast Interview

DOWNLOAD the PODCAST – #92 Glenn Dickie (Sounds Australia – Export Music Producer).
Anyway, my friendship with GG started back in 2011, when the sister of a friend of mine from my Emirates Airline days checked into the Bowery Ballroom in New York at an event called The Aussie BBQ, with a line-up featuring DZ Deathrays, Paul Dempsey, Bliss N Eso, Blue King Brown and a whole swag of the most amazing Australian musicians.

Demi Louise – a little ray of sunshine, building a brand & travelling the globe!

PODCAST – #64 Demi Louise (Australian folk singer/songwriter & digital entrepreneur).

Oh man… that Demi Louise… she’s just a little ray of sunshine!
Demi and I met a few years back via Twitter and since we’re both jetting off to Austin (TX) in just 4 weeks for SXSW, we were like… let’s hang out and do a podcast together! 😃
Demi Louise is an Australian folk pop singer songwriter who has travelled the world with her music performing at the world’s largest music conference, SXSW (Austin, TX), International Folk Alliance (Kansas), CMJ Music Marathon in New York, Liverpool Sound City Music Festival (UK), MUCON & Zandari Festival in South Korea and Canadian Music Week (Toronto).
At age 22, the Melbourne based singer/songwriter made a bold decision to travel the globe, build a fanbase organically through solid live shows and tap into international audiences beyond the Australian market by interacting and connecting with fans of international artists of a similar style to her own from around the world on Twitter.
As a result of this simple, but astute foresight, Demi Louise now boasts a combined social media following of more than 60K+ and she has racked up almost a quarter of a million views on YouTube. These are exactly the kind of digital tactics that all Australian musicians should utilize if they’re hoping to move beyond a small and saturated music market of just 23 million people that reside within our shores.
Demi’s down with the selfies, a demon on Twitter & Snapchat, so don’t forget to show her the Twitter love while you’re listening to today’s podcast and say hey to us both. Her social links & mine are all in the podcast show notes.
I’ve got so much admiration & respect for individuals who put in the hard yards to create their own worlds and their hard-earned money where their mouth is – Demi has not only self-funded all recording of her music, but all of her travels around the world!
Yes, Demi Louise, you are damn inspiring, girl… go get ‘em, tiger!

The rise of Falls. The stuff that dreams are made of.

Hot & Delicious: Rocks The Planet podcast series
Interview #40 – Falls (Australian folk rock band).
It’s that age-old love tale. Boy meets girl. Girl meets boy. They fall in love. Then they break up. And live happily ever after… as an internationally-signed folk rock band… ha ha… couldn’t help myself… True story though.
Melinda Kirwin and Simon Rudston-Brown AKA Falls are a duo from Darwin and NSW, who were originally a couple and now two friends, who are signed with a US record label (Verve Records), booking agent and management – helping them make the transition from independent Australian band to North American touring band.
Utilizing premier Australian music conference BigSound, Melinda’s experience with Eleven music company founder, John Watson at John Butler’s ‘the seed’ and the team at Sounds Australia as a launching pad for Canadian Music Week and South By Southwest, Falls signed a booking agent, management and lawyer on their North American tour in March 2013, followed later in the year by an approach from the Verve Records A&R team at CMJ Music Marathon, a 5 day music & film conference in New York City.
Flash forward 2 years and they have now spent the past 2 years living in the USA, touring the country and recording their debut album ‘Omaha’ due out on October 2nd worldwide! AND they launched their first single from the new album on the Wall Street Journal. Epic!
I’ve not caught up with these 2 since that 2013 SXSW tour when we met and became friends at SXSW in Austin, Texas and it was lovely to have them sitting on the couch in my castle in the sky telling all their tales from the road and what makes these two tick.
Ever wanted to know what it takes to make in the music industry? Then this is the podcast for you. They’ve poured blood, sweat, tears & a whole swag of hard-earned Benjamins into their career on the sniff of a chance to achieve success beyond their wildest dreams.
Truly an inspiration & makes me happy every single time I see their latest update on social media.
This is the stuff that dreams are made of.

Mucho Bravado announce Emma Louise debut album launch & ‘Freedom’ single stream

Image by Nikki Williams (Hot & Delicious Group).
I can still remember when I first heard Emma Louise sing for the 1st time.
In 2011, Emma played Brisbane Festival‘s iconic Spiegeltent and those of us involved with Spiegeltent had her breakout single ‘Jungle’ ingrained in our hearts & minds and on repeat as part of our daily playlist.
Since joining Andy Bull for a double headline at that event, Emma Louise has gone from strength to strength with appearances at the world’s largest music, film & interactive conference, South-By-South-West (SXSW), New York’s CMJ Music Marathon at The Aussie BBQ and signing with US label Frenchkiss Records.
This week Brisbane-based music company, Mucho Bravado, announced March 22nd as the launch date for Emma’s much anticipated debut album ‘vs Head vs Heart’, including latest single ‘Freedom’ (Free stream via Soundcloud below).
Been a fan of Emma Louise for a few years now and get excited any time I hear news of her new music coming our way. Will definitely be heading over to iTunes to buy this one.
Enjoy
