Thom Yorke & Flea announce ‘Atoms for Peace’ debut album

AmokAFP

Thom Yorke (Radiohead) and Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) have announced ‘Atoms For Peace’ debut album Amok release date via the Radiohead website.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock this past few months, you would have heard the superstar band’s edgy, 1st single ‘Debut’ on the international airwaves.

Unlike many of my contemporaries, I was never captured by the spell of Radiohead’s iconic album, OK Computer, but I am completely in love with this brand new joint by Atoms For Peace.

February 25th, 2013 can quite simply not come quickly enough!

Is Peking Duk’s – ‘The Way You Are’ the party track of the 2012/13 Australian summer? Yup!!

Ever since I heard kick-ass, driving track ‘Bonasa’ I was convinced these guys were an act to keep an eye on & excited to see that following their Stereosonic appearance, Peking Duk are hitting up both Falls Festival and Field Day over New Years.

Get this goodness into you!

‎Rage Against The Machine release ‘XX’ incl. 3 previously unheard live tracks

Rage Against The Machine release of ‘XX’ to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of their debut LP.

Words can’t describe what Rage Against The Machine’s self-titled album means to me.

Easily one of my top 3 albums of all time (RHCP’s ‘Blood Sugar Sex Magik’ is another), I can still tell you where I was/when it was that I had my 1st taste & my mate thrusting the CD in my hands saying.. “You’ve GOT to listen to this…”. As an angry, unhappy teenager lacking in self-confidence it was an album I cranked as an outlet to my frustrations and certain it lead to more than a few cracks from my parents pounding on my bedroom door.

Even these days despite being the polar opposite in temperament, in rare periods of anger or frustration I can still rely on RATM’s ‘Freedom’ to sate the rage & bring a sense of calm…

Anger is a Gift…
