With this year’s bill boasting the long-awaited return to Australia for The Cribs, a first time visit by Blood Red Shoes, a headline performance by Perth heroes Tame Impala, a swag of early morning bass by Shockone and Beni and mountains of rock throughout the day lead by Stonefield and Children Collide, there’s a lot to look forward to.

Shot on location at Published Arthouse, Adelaide & a first glimpse of the ‘Black Stones’ album due February 15, 2013.
Rage Against The Machine release of ‘XX’ to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of their debut LP.
Words can’t describe what Rage Against The Machine’s self-titled album means to me.
Easily one of my top 3 albums of all time (RHCP’s ‘Blood Sugar Sex Magik’ is another), I can still tell you where I was/when it was that I had my 1st taste & my mate thrusting the CD in my hands saying.. “You’ve GOT to listen to this…”. As an angry, unhappy teenager lacking in self-confidence it was an album I cranked as an outlet to my frustrations and certain it lead to more than a few cracks from my parents pounding on my bedroom door.
Even these days despite being the polar opposite in temperament, in rare periods of anger or frustration I can still rely on RATM’s ‘Freedom’ to sate the rage & bring a sense of calm…
Anger is a Gift…
Damn! Fat Freddy’s new jam is tight!!
The New Zealand band’s latest installment from upcoming album ‘Blackbird’ due in 2013 is one fine piece of music. Sex & stylin’ blues, dub & dance.
Yes please! May I have another?
Jackie Onassis’ ‘Crystal Balling’ has been out a couple weeks now, but it’s one the sickest new hip hop jams I’ve heard recently for sure
The Sydney duo’s brand new EP Holiday is out now & you can DOWNLOAD it FREE clicking the pic below
Show them some love!
My life is insanely busy, so quite often I find myself crave peach-purple sunsets & beautiful acoustic music to clear my mind.
Lakyn Heperi’s latest single ‘Better Than That’ is one such track. With warm, deftly plucked guitar strings and honeyed vocals, ‘Better Than That’ breaks the commercial mould that benefits & yet at times shackles talented young Australian singer-songwriters.
iTunes is proudly featuring Lakyn’s track as Single of The Week this week, but click here worldwide to receive your free copy of this lovely tune
When I caught “party country” 7-piece ‘Little Bastard’ live at Sydney’s Oxford Arts Factory during their August residency, I truly arrived having no idea what to expect.
Performed my usual due diligence pre-event, trying to find the band online for a cheeky listen to no avail. I’d never heard of Little Bastard, but they came recommended by one of my A&R friends & wow.. they did not disappoint! Shortly before the band started, the room filled to capacity with loyal, local fans and their cheeky banter combined with beautiful musicianship left me craving more.
Delighted to announce that Little Bastard have now recorded & launched their debut self-titled EP. Download a copy here FREE & hit one of their live shows. This is a band on the rise!
Alex Steffan AKA ‘DJ Butcher’ has released a killer new EP ‘Swerve’.
The Brisbane-based hip hop producer & director of Born Fresh Records has a bunch of wicked projects in the works & recently returned from competing in the Red Bull Thre3style World Championships in Chicago
Download the ‘Swerve’ single here FREE & make sure you catch his live set next time he’s in town
